After learning that the U.S. Olympic clothing was being made in China I thought I see what other so called American companies manufacture products in China. This is mind numbing!

This is a list of companies who either own factories, or have contract factories producing their products in China. Some of the companies produce 100% of their products there, and others only produce parts, or certain ingredients for their products.

Where did you get this list?  If I understand your post it's supposed to be a list of American Companies, or were you looking for Am. Companies and found all of  this?

Plus, it really shouldn't surprise anyone.  Granted, I would rather buy American products when available, (except for my Finnish made rifle and my Turkish made shotgun, oh, and my Croatian made pistol, Canadian made Chevy truck), but face it, it's getting kind of hard to find American made products.

If I had a large company and had saturated the US, N. America, S. America, and Europe, I'd be in China too.  Any owner or executive not trying to grow his business by selling in a market the size of China would be remiss, and he would need a physical presence there.

The US is still the biggest manufacturing economy, but the cutting has been fast since Congress voted in the Clinton years to allow Most Favored Nation status and enty into the WTO to China.

Very true.  I hate to sound flippant about all the companies in China now, but it's the real world now.  China has us by the short and curlys economically.  Like most others I usually scream "Buy American!", but by the comments about my guns and truck, it goes to show that a lot of us don't give it a second thought at times when we do go to buy.

I stopped at a dollar store today to replace some of my worn out old pens. I looked thru the entire selection. They had pens made in China, Mexico, France and Indonesia. I found a set made in the USA. I bought them even though they did cost a little more. The pens were manufactured by "Pilot". I buy American whenever I can! Everyone else should do the same!

I work for Viking Range Corporation and we build high end ranges and kitchen appliances.
One of our customer care reps told me they took a call from a woman who was made and demanded and explanation of why her 100 percent American made Viking Range had a part that said "Mexico" on it.
We build them here in the good 'ol heart of the MS Delta, but the parts come from anywhere down the street, Germany, Japan, Mexico, etc....
All of the fabrication or fabricated parts are made right here, but we trade with other countries for some of our parts.

One thing I am not sure most of you realize is that to do Business in China the products have to be made in China. So as it is one of the dastest growing markets business people cant pass up the oppurtunity to sell their. I dont like it and buy american whenever I can however some things you just cant avoid like CASH listed some parts on your cars are made in "China even if assembled here.  The USA and our Congress need to address trade deficiencies to help spur American economic growth but wont.

NAFTA is one of the prime reason that we have seen the explosion of US companies going overseas.  Now if you think things are bad now wait until you find out about the Trans Pacific Partnership or TPP that is being worked out at this very moment between us and many other nations worldwide.  If we sign into this TPP it will absolutely destroy our free market system as me know it now. You will be lucky to earn minimum wage once this treaty goes into effect. Our leaders are absolutely destroying our country by signing into these treaties. Research it and learn from what you read and then contact your politicians and tell them HELL NO.
