After several days of close encounters and long days in the woods, it finally all came together for me on May 11th at 7:15 a.m! I heard him gobble up on a ridge and knew that I had to get around him and cut him off. My plan fell right into place and he came walking down an old logging road right at about 4 yards headed for my feeding hen placed 20 yards away. I let him get out a little bit towards the decoy where he was just begining to strut. He put his head up quick and I let the lead fly. Awesome hunt in just a picturesque spot! He ranks right up with one of my personal best birds that I shot several years ago!

11.25" Beard, 1 1/8" Spurs and 22 Lbs.

Thanks,

That's a great bird you harvested  :icon_thumright: and the pics are exceptional also.

The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.
