Thinking about giving HTL a try. I shoot a 935 with .676 stardot. thought I would try Hevi-13 3.5-2.25-6's. My local shop only has 5's or 7's in that load. Do the 7's have enough energy for the longer shots or should I go for the 5's?

7's worked for me this year. 6's are a great choice too. Never fooled with 5 HTL.

You will not regret the 7s if legal in your area.

I'll have to check regulations for legality where I hunt !

I'm a big believer in 7s after this year

You will find several members on here shoot the Stardot and #7's and they are DEADLY!

You said you wanted to try 6's, does your gunshop carry the 3-2-6 loads? If so, you may want to consider them as well, A lot of us are getting great patterns out of the 3" hevi shells. Otherwise I would go for the 7's.

I'll be honest at 40yds it won't matter much what you shoot when it comes to Hevi-13 loads.  But if you want to put the max amount of pellets in a turkey head and neck at that same distance there is only one choice.  And that's the 7's.  But the 5's and 6's are gonna work well, too.  I personally prefer the 7's.  But I have 6's.  And I also have a bunch of the 5's.  I buy what I get the good deals on.

yes, the shop has the 3-2-6 hevi. Bought a box for $22, mainly for my old 11-87. They want $24 for 3.5-2.25 loads but $35 for the 3.5 MB ! Could shoot the 3-2-6 thru the 935/stardot. Anyone pattern the 3.5-2.25-5's?
