Congratulations, the first bird is memorable but all the birds I have gotten give me the same feeling.
Do your best with the young boy and have a lot of fun with him.

congrats rev on your bird!  And best of luck with the young lad.  I am also from IN and can tell you with this unusually early green up this spring we have been getting in real tight on our birds.  My sons bird on Sunday and my wifes bird on Thursday were killed after setting up on them at no more than about 75 yards. 
It sounds like you know the lay of the land pretty well and know how to get around so don't sell yourself too short.  Trust your first instinct, whenever I start second guessing myself then I get myself in trouble.
