My son and I have been after a pair of gobblers, that we called in and actually missed opening morning.
Since then they have given us a fit. Once they seem to have a routine the next day would be something different, not to mention the two hens they have been staying with from daylight til dark. The first calling and the hens lead them in the opposite direction. This afternoon we slipped into the roost area and waited never calling with only a little leaf scratching. After a few hours Blaine says dont move.. I look over and see his gun is up, then BOOOM!
This gobbler had six beards; 11 1/4" , 9 3/4" 3 of them were 8 3/4" and a 4". Spurs were needle sharp 1 1/4".
This was incredible for my son to take this gobbler!!
Way to go son!!!
Thank you Lord for another incredible day in the turkey woods!!!
