Ok 20 ga gurus.......

My son has a chance to hunt with a Rem 1100 this season, but it is only chambered in 2 3/4.
Does anyone have any ideas on a shell that will be effective, and if there is one, what would it's max range be?

Federal makes the Heavyweight 7's in a 2 3/4" load.

and that load is a killer out to about 30 yards.

Great pattern! :icon_thumright:
Only problem is this is a fixed choke barrel, and I don't know the diameter. I am thinking about some Federal Wing-Shok Magnums in 2 3/4 and see how those shoot.

shoot some patterns and see what happens
Winchester makes a 2-3/4" Magnum 1-1/8oz #6's and 7.5's
I would try the 7.5's for the heck of it,if I could find some
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I own the same gun with a fixed full choke (I don't use this gun for turkey hunting).  However, Federal's marketing campaign for the Flightcontrol loads was that a factory choke was all we needed.  I wouldn't write them off as an option.
