Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum.  Looks like an awesome site!!

Just bought these loads for my H&R Pump 20 Gauge and was wondering what your experiences are with this load.  I've read a lot about the HW loads and little about these.

I just tried the Remington Nitro's and had bad results.

Thanks.

Brandon

Oh ya, I'm using the H.S. Undertaker.

first off welcome aboard
as for #4's I don't have very much experience with them in the 20ga,although I'm starting to getting around to do some testing with them and some of my chokes

With just 175 pellets in the load, I wouldn't expect much, except at very close range, where the energy that 4s bring is not needed. Sixes should do much better (288 pellets).

OK.  I read on another forum that my screw in modified might work better for my #4's than my Undertaker.

What do you guys think?  Obviously I'll try it.

Go to a smaller load, like #6's.
I am using Fed HVY Wt #7's with the flite control wad.
That gives me more pellets down range in the kill and has greater knock down energy than lead.

Welcome on board.
This is the greatest turkey hunting forum, period :you_rock:

Conventional wisdom is to use smaller shot like #6 because of the 20ga smaller payload. I've been using #4Pb in my 20ga Mossberg Mdl 500C pump since 2000 with excellent results. I use two loads..........
• Federal® Mag-Shok® Flitecontrol® 3" Mag 1185fps 1 5/16oz #4Pb (#PFC258 4)
• Winchester® Supreme® 3" Mag 1200fps 1 5/16oz #4Pb (#STH2034)

I'll stick w/#4Pb
