Any one pattern the mag blends through the rem full in a 20ga. Taking an 8 yr old on Saturday and worried about over choking. We will be limiting the shots to 30ish. I can pattern tomorrow, but just want an idea of what I might get.

The Remington Super Full has an exit diameter of .570".  That choke is not overly tight. If you have the Remington Full choke tube, it has an exit diameter of .590". That will give him plenty of spread. Just keep the shot to 35 yards and less and have him "aim small to miss small."

Good Luck. :z-guntootsmiley:

Thanks, I think we are going to let him practice on some empty water bottles at 25 through the full choke and dove loads tomorrow. I'll rip a few mag blends and see what I'm working with.

Will you post the results when you see how it does. I recently bought a steel compatible full remchoke for my model 1100 youth 20 gauge to try the Fed HW 7s with. I would like to see how it does with Hevi-13.

I'm shooting a PG .555 with the mag blend 5,6,7's and at 25 yards it is about the size of a basketball...you will be fine with the .570 as it should open it up just a little more than mine...we put a red dot on to make it a bit easier though...

the full choke should do great
I been playing around with the full choke and some Federal FC shells, the combo is working out pretty good
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Tested a round on Friday before dark and it patterned very even at 30 yards. I didn't count pellets, but there weren't any horrible holes and it was certainly dense enough to kill a bird at 30. The kid I took the next day got a nice bird at about 27 yards with this load.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind te most.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad the kid got a bird.
