Received my 20g Rem tempest in 555 and 570.. The 555 is a lil longer than the 570, seems Bill did some testing to get the maximum out of both constrictions instead of just changing the constriction..

I am eager to see your results shootum. I want to see how your gun does with the feds. I am going to run a .570 tempest/fed hw 7 combo through my 11-87 26" barreled sportsman soon, maybe next week. I tried the .555, and it was very inconsistent. Maybe the .570 will be the cat's meow in mine I hope!!

First 40 degree day we have with no wind, I am after it.. I know the numbers will not be great, but with me leaving the first of April for two weeks I cant wait on weather.... If I get 130s in 40 degree temps I am done..

I have two guns two run them through and a buddy had 4 or so.. So we may see if the tempest in different constrictions is better in long or short barreled guns.. Oh yeah also have the RSF and SSX..

I definately think you will see 130s with one of the tempests. Just shoot a couple to get an average, they can be inconsistent in the wrong choke, that's for sure. I'm sure you already know that though. The best so far in my 11-87 has been the RSF, I have high hopes for the .570 tempest. If it doesn't pan out for me, I am calling it quits with the feds and using the RSF for them. I also have some nitros coming to try, but I like to have a backup load, especially with the wait on nitros. Heck, if I get the numbers I am looking for, I still may end up hunting with the hw 7's. They will have mad energy, and will hit him hard!!!

I got antsy today and it was cold 30 degrees but just had to put a Fed 7 through the 570 in both a 26 and 21 inch barreled 870.. Well lets just say the 570 will not go in either gun...

I am still waiting on the 555 as I received the wrong one, I sure hope hope it shows promise..

Dont fret folks with the Tempest on order these shells and my guns do not get along

I thought these chokes were specially made for the Fed #7's?

Oh they are... Lots of good reports.. I have just determined my gun hates Federal flight controls

If that .555 doesn't work for you....I want first dibbs!!!

I'm starting to think my 20 gauge likes that cheap Remington Super Full .570 the best, but would love to try something a bit tighter.

I have the two guns to test in, and than I have a buddy with 2 more 870s and a short barreled 1187 to try it in.. From the results I have seen, she will find a home LOL

LOL....I know what you mean.  I am going to reshoot those Fed HW 2 3/4 #7's again.  The 40 yard number that I posted the other day was with a clean barrel.  I'm starting to think I might get a better 40 yrd number with 1 pre-shot through it.  If I could get 100 at 40 yards with that 2 3/4 for my daughter, I would be good to go.

Let us know what results you get.

My buddy has a tempest .555. We tried it in his gun and mine this past weekend. It would not shoot good patterns in either gun for us. My gun has a 21" barrel and his has a 26" barrel. Both Remington 870's.
