I sat in my truck on the side of the road on Saturday watching three longbeards strutting with a group of about 20 hens and four or five jakes. The hens were yelping their heads off and every now and then the jakes gobbled. Suddenly a hawk flew over, the hens and jakes scattered and the three toms all gobbled simultaneously. They just kept on strutting.

Not in my neck of the woods... we still have snow on the ground here.

Not yet but where I hunt is over six hours drive one way so I guess I have to wait until April. I did hear from the lodge that I hunt out of that they are seeing 200 birds a day right now.

I was driving in my property today in central alabama with a friend and we saw a group of 37 out in the field. I could tell 4 gobblers for sure that were strutting together. My friend has a PA speaker in his truck and he yelped with his mouth and all four gobblers gobbled at once. They also gobbled to an owl as well. We got them to all gobble atleast 5 different times. Keep in mind this was around 11:30 in the morning. Haven't been out in the morning yet.
