One of Mossbergshotgun' advertisement sales pitch is , the use of them by our armed forces. I am curious about whether or not the guns as used in military service have alloy receivers, or are the military models built from all steel ?

They use the same guns as you and I do... been doing it for a lot of years now in fact. The 500, 590 and the 930 all get some use somewhere around the world. I carried on myself for building entry work back in the day in the AF. The receiver being and alloy has nothing to do with the quality or durability of the shotgun.
