I use the same guns no matter the weather, sounds like a good excuse to get another gun though.

I hunted my 870 regardless. Sat out in a torrential downpour last year and never saw a bird. But, hey, can't kill them if you're in the truck or on the couch.

By the time I made it home, it was already rusting. Cleaned it off, oiled it good, and went back the next day. I did have it dipped after season so no more external rusting to worry about.

This year it will be my SBE2

I understand your situation and in that case I would go to a local pawn shop and get a cheap pump. Get some good shells and a decent choke and your ready to go for no more then $300.

I would put up an heirloom. Get an 870. I have used one for my go to gun sine I was 13. I have had 2, and I have ran close to 100 cases thru each with trap, turkey, deer slugs, and duck hunting. Both are champs and have never let me down, even in freezing rain duck hunts, or crawl thru the mud goose hunts, or sunny day dove hunts.
If at first you don't succeed, shoot again.
