I will to add that all mine are 3.5 shells that dent my 3" gun dosen't do it.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

My 870SM seems to dent my 3.5" shells up pretty good. Never had a issue with one firing though.
