Getting daughter's gun set up.

Factory X Full choke .575 Hevi 3" #7s

Aiming at the bottom masking tape.

132 in 10" circle 36 of my steps
173 in 20" circle

52 degrees, 2-3 mph wind.
Barrel has not been touched at all. Only the second shot from the box new.
Will be adding a holo sight, probably going to try another choke.

God Bless,
David B.

Not to bad for the choke
If I may I would suggest Sumtoy He did well by me and my choke puts 105 Lead 5's in the ten at 40 :)

I agree. Right out of the box, that is impressive.
You add a quality aftermarket choke, and that little gun is gonna take right off!
William at SumToy has done alot of work with the 20 gauge guns. That would be where I would start.

surehuntsalot

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

David I think the youngster will do just fine with that pattern just as she is.

I think so as well.

36 of my steps is the furthest, I'm comfortable with her shooting, as my steps are usually dead on for yards.

I'm expecting the shot to be 25 yards and in with decoys and blind, as I want to film her first bird.

I'd rather have more of an open shot pattern for her.

Just need to get a holo sight for her, and sight it in.   :toothy9:

Right on track, is she on our team ?  :anim_25:

As you know, all she has to do is draw a finer bead with the front sight in order to bring that pattern dead center at the POA. Good luck to you and the daughter .

Aughh, No, a finer bead will move the POI even higher than what it is.  ;)

Just talked to Mr. Lambert at SUMTOY today and bought the new Bad Boy choke for my Son's Mossberg 500 super Bantam and it's specifically for the Federal HW #7's.  We discussed the whole pellets at 40 yards in a 10" circle and said that this specific choke he is making me will produce an excellent even pattern at 40-45 yards.  I care more knowing that at 40-45 yards that bird is going to take a dirt nap.  I can't wait to get this choke and get shooting it!

This is what they recommend for the choke he is making me:   http://www.federalpremium.com/products/details/shotshell.aspx?id=837
