I just bough a "new" shotgun.  Actually it's an old one that needs to be stripped to bare metal and refurbished. The mechanic is fine bot the exterior is corroded. A little winter project.
I found about that company, do someone know about that :   http://www.cerakoteguncoatings.com.

It doesn't seems to be that complicated...

Birdsong does fantastic work! I have seen some turkey guns done in the OD Green and they are as cool as the other side of the pillow. My friends have hunted with them for years and years. Virtually no wear on the gun is visible. Can't go wrong with them.

I have heard it is no good if your prep isn't perfect, but BY FAR the best if it is.  If it messes up it can get pretty costly.  Buy some spray paint and have fun.  If you dont like it do it again.  I can paint several guns with a couple cans of spray paint.  The turkey woods can be hard on your gun.

Send it to Birdsong in Florence, MS, and get the Black-T coating put on it.

I have a BPS that was refinished in the matt black Cerakote to match the original finish. It was done by a fellow who was trained in Cerakote applications and it turned out perfectly. I got it back in about 2 weeks. Birdsong's schedules have been waaaaaay out there. If you go with Birdsong, verify a delivery date beforehand.

Anyone who gets a gun back to you in two weeks doesn't have many guns to work on..Birdsong has allot of clients including the military which should tell you something about their quality.

So what exactly is your point here? Let the client list be the determining factor in this decision, or the end product and availability? Cerakote gun treatments by certified trained personnel are available all across the nation. Black-T is available from one shop that is notoriously overloaded.

If you want to get into a discussion about the individual characteristics and merits of these two finishes, that's up to you.

It's comparable to taking a animal to a taxidermy and him being able to mount your animal immediately because he has very little work to do. Or taking your deer to a high quality taxidermist that takes 6 mths-1 yr to get it back to you. Professionals who are in high demand due to years of experience and high quality work..I am comfortable referring others to. Faster is not necessarily better when it comes to product quality.
