Question Regarding Fixed Choke Barrells and Steel Shot

New to Turkey Hunting and was wondering if anyone could advise me as to what kind of shell works best with a fixed, full choke barrell.  Also, I have heard that shooting steel shot thru a fixed choke barrell is not good for the barrel itself.

I have found other references on-line but would prefer some first-hand knowledge.

I appreciate any and all comments and look forwarding to reading and contributing to this forum.

Thanks!

I would not hesitate to try Federal Flite Control in lead #5 or #6 ,
Winchester HV , Supreme , or gray box loads in #5 or #6 for shots of 30 yards and if good enough then up to 40 yards.

Win XD in #6 are soft enough to not harm your choke and the H-13 Doubles line is certainly not going to damage your choke.

Unless you are shooting a LOT of HTL loads for geese, ducks, etc. I would not worry myself. A Hevi-13 Magnum Blend should give you a very good killing pattern out of a fixed full. How far depends on  what pattern you get at a given  distance. I would see what works and be content with that distance that gives you confidence for the load you are shooting.

I have a 3" magnum 1100 with a fixed 30" full choke barrel on it, and it loves the Federal FC shells
