FALCONRY AND LIBERALISM

A couple of weeks ago I turned my hawk loose to fly free for the first time. My wife ask "why didn't he just fly away"? I replied "because he's a liberal". The more I thought about it the more the two seemed alike. He traded his freedom for a little security.
Before I trapped him he could fly anywhere  he wanted and soar far above the clouds and come down wherever he wanted. he could eat whenever he wanted as much as he wanted.
The anties say falconers are cruel to the birds and keep them on the edge of starvation. the fact is every time we go hunting they are free to fly wherever they wish. They are perfectly content following me around for just enough to get them by until tomorrow and go back home to sit in a building. Just like a liberal is content sitting in an appartment the government pays for and getting just enough food stamps to keep from starving. They have no desire to see how far they can go or how high they can fly in life. Its too risky, they may fail and starve. And they surely will have to WORK.
The falconer plays the part of the liberal politition. My job is to make sure he stays in that condition. He gets just enough to get him by and he don't get to eat by himself. He has to always understand it comes from ME. If he starts thinking he don't need ME, he might not be a good little liberal.
If he catches a squirrel when hunting, I take it from him. I trade him just a little bit for the squirrel. Can't let him think it pays off to be productive. I TAX his rich arse to death. After all I have more hawks at home and I must "SPREAD THE WEALTH" to all the other liberals who haven't done a freaking thing all day but sit on a pearch and wait for ME.

Nice analogy, Longspur. When something or someone becomes dependant on others, there is little reason for them to go back to fend for themselves. They take the path of least resistance. Not always, but most often. Mike
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.
