Super Black Eagle 2 shot recommendations

Hello, first post.  I have mostly bowhunted turkeys my entire life and any gun hunting has been done with a Winchester 1300 turkey special or a single shot H&R 10 gauge.  I recently sold off a bunch of crap and and saved some $$ and sprung on a super black eagle 2.  Then I picked up an Indian Creek Black Diamond choke and now the only thing that's left is figuring out what brand and size of shot is best thru it.

Any and all recommendations are welcome.  Thanks in advance.  I will post some dead turkey pictures later when I get some more time.  Thanks again.

Not sure if it matters but it's a 12 gauge with a 26 inch barrel.  Thanks.

Hevi-13 (Heavy Shot) in either #6's, #7's or Magnum Blend. They will do you proud. If you want to shoot lead, I would try Win. Hi- Vel. # 6's. There will be a lot of opinions here, but that is are where I would start with that rig... Good Luck....Mike  :fud: :newmascot:
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Problem is there's not a lot of selection for turkey shells in stores right now, it's all freaking steel shot.  I bought some Federal Premium 2 1/4 oz #4 shot simply because I want to try this pig out on a fall bird and that's all I could find.  One more store to hit before I'd have to drive some distance or else order online.

The Federal Premium shells with the Flite Control Wad aren't supposed to be shot through ported choke tubes, like the Indian Creek BDS.

Try those through your factory Full choke.

congrats on your new gun. I have the same gun with a 24" barrel and burris red dot. First make sure your poa and poi are the same , the SBEII have an impact issue that's why i put a red dot on mine. Any way i have tried just about every choke shell combo known to man and this is what shoots best out of my gun. Rob Roberts final strut choke in .665 and either hevi #7 or magblend. Now with the indian creek .665 it did good with winchester elite xtend range #6, and hevi#7 and It was fair with hevi#6, all of these shells were 3.5". As far as lead the only thing that i would even buy is winchester. Pleas fell free to pm me with any questions or concerns you have.

Really?  Will they blow me and the gun up Or just perform poorly?   I'm seriously striking out on ammo around my area.

Hey Muddy

I have a SBE2 & this is a pattern from it. Indian Creek .665 choke, Hevi 13 31/2 inch 21/4 oz load # 6 shot. Try Dunns Sporting Goods. They have the best prices on Hevi Shot that I have found. There is a link here on OG for Dunns. Good Luck !!

That's a good start with any rig.

Nice.  I found some magnum blend but its 1.5 hour drive so I may just order online as suggested.  That way I can get a little of everything.

Fall season opens next Monday so hopefully I can get out and break the pig in.

Thanks.  I bought some #6 hevi shot and will probably get some #7 as well for fun comparison.  My buddy is letting me have a couple multi shot hevi shot shells so I should have a good start.

Would not consider much of anything else.

That is a good price for those shells!
I prefer the MAG Blend in 3 inch where I hunt so far three birds one shot each (wicked load on turkeys).

muddy

Yes, the Mag blend is next on my agenda, right now I'm sitting on enough Hevi #6 and #7 that I should be good to go for awhile.

I appreciate the opinions and replies, though they're not far off what I expected to have for answers.
