Have 'em mounted white letters out...and THEN black sharpie the outside letters and white sharpie the inside letters.  Next, complain that they did it wrong and demand a refund.

I only meant with the Firestone Destination A/Ts, they have those wavy letters.  BFGs or others it would be OUT all the time.

For the customer, when asked for my recommendation it depends on the vehicles color and the brand/style tire the customer is buying.

To me, the color of the vehicle makes all/most of the difference, a lighter color vehicle looks great with white letters, more subtle than a darker vehicle does with white letters.

I prefer black out but I drive only black trucks.
