I recently got the book.  I've always heard it was a great book and decided to buy it after I heard Ronnie "Cuz" Strickland mention it on a show the other day.  I couldn't wait to get it but I'm almost finished and struggling to make it to the end.

Wow. Never heard of a turkey hunter with that problem before.

Me either!

I read it about every other year - always in March getting ready for the next Spring season.

I like it a lot. It has it's moments, as all books do. I always get the urge, when reading Mr. Tom Kelley books, to highlite the funny sayings, but never do because I don't want to wreck the book. I did buy Infirm Opinions, and found it very hard to get through..By and large, I am a huge fan of his..Mike

I thought it was very informative and made me a better hunter this past year.  I skipped the chapters that does not involve the type of hunting I do or can do.  Will read it again in March to get ready for April.  I recommend it for any turkey hunter that wants to grow or a new turkey hunter.   :z-guntootsmiley:

I thought it was a great book and could hardly put it down.

For someone over 50 who was born and raised in the rural deep south, Tom Kelly's books have extra appeal.  We can identify with what he is saying and reminisce a bygone era between chapters.  I own every book he has published.

I didn't like as much as I thought I would.

It is on the turkey hunter's mandatory reading list.
Agreed. Tom Kelly has a way of drawing you right into his stories. Fantastic read.

Spring Creek Calls

I've read my copy multiple times and I'm sure I'll read it again over the winter. Hard to imagine not being able to get thru it, but if you're a younger hunter it might be hard to relate to the old school traditions.
