Mad Super Illuminator Aluminum Pot Call Question

Was at a friends house this weekend and he had one of the super illuminators, and it sounded really good. The model 300 is the one he had. Do some of you guys have this same call, and if so, what can you say about it? My question - is that one sounding good just a fluke, or do they all consistently sound that good. Pretty sure the call has a carbon fiber sound board. I will say this, this gentlemen has two or three more sitting new in the pack as reserves in case something happens to his current one. That is how much he likes that call. Was just curious and wanted to see what others had to say.

I bought that call new from Mark Drury at the 1996 NWTF Convention and it stayed in my vest 20+ years.  It was a Mike Battey design (I think) and yes, they sound great.  I have several that all sound the same.

My buddy has one he killed 4 bearded bird that came in second place in a contest, this is when they first came out and yes it sounded great!

Thanks for the feedback gentleman. I have more pot calls than I could possibly hunt, but that call just kind of intrigued me and I might try to pick one up just to have.

I bought one when they came out, hated it!  I couldn't play it for chit!

Gave it to a kid.  I gave that kid a full foliage strap vest too

Those Aluminators were selling for a pretty penny a couple of years ago.  Prices fluctuate over time, but I seem to recall $200 was the asking price on Ebay for a few.

Had a member give me one a few years ago, very nice sounding call.  Normally I prefer to use wood calls, but that call and the Mad Super Crystal and the Quakerboy Trifecta are in my inclement  weather pack along with a couple others.

I have one, but I can't tell you the model #. Killed a decent number of birds with it but I hardly use a pot call anymore

Great call!  Especially with a hickory striker.  Inherited one from a friend and I use it fall and spring.
