I've been having an issue with my Rem 11-87 super mag for the last few years and it's time to get it repaired. There's a small piece of metal (carrier latch) in the trigger assembly at the rear of the carrier and bolt release button that gets hung up sometimes when cycling the action and prevents the bolt from closing all the way. I can lift the carrier up and push this latch piece in with the tip of my finger and it'll release the bolt and the shotgun will work fine. It only gets hung up sometimes and not every time. It usually does it when I'm unloading but has also done it a couple times after I fire a shot. The 2 times it's happened after firing, I have to dissemble the gun and pull the barrel off to reset everything. None of my other 11-87s have ever done this.
I'm looking for a well known and reputable Remington shotgun gunsmith. I don't have anyone locally I can take it to. Any recommendations? Thank you.
