Vests, packs, Satchels, there is no perfect Answer

We all have strived to carry our calls, seat, bino's etc. in the most efficient, comfortable way. I know most turkey hunters tried many vests, satchels, chest and Fanny packs over the years, I'm one of you all. I felt I would share my latest non-vest creation that so far is a winner for me. I do sit quite a bit, so a good cushion is essential. I love my stadium cushion by thermo-seat. It has adjustable straps that adjusts, allowing you to sit without a tree behind you. The back and seat cushion does not flatten out. Very comfortable and light to carry. I use a Nomad and North Mountain 1/4 zip Leafy Wear. Both has a zippered kangaroo pouch under the quarter zipper. This can carry most of your essentials with ease. I just wanted a little organization/separation, so I took a cheap shoulder pack and cut off the top flap. It fits very nicely in the kangaroo pouch. The pictures show what I usually carry, the only substitution might be a box call for one of my pushpins. I'll only do this on windy days, the box is affective in the wind. Calls are mouth diaphragm, Cody Slate and Striker, 2 Push-pins, headnet gloves, wing-flapper. This allows me to carry my stadium cushion, and gun, very easy, a lightweight carry. I know it's not the answer for all, but for me it's my go to vest-less option for sure. Hope it gives you all some ideas. Be safe...

The bottom picture shows the Leafy jacket with the pouch divider and calls in it. Not bulky, fits real nicely. Zipper operates very easily. Thanks for looking..

I'm trying to go lighter, but you know how that goes. I have whittled it down to my vest, an old Cabelas Tatr 3( which I would trade one of my kids for a couple new ones), and 2 pots, 2 box calls( Donny Richards gobble box) and my mouth calls. a couple pushpins and thermacell. Gloves and headnet, gatorade and a protein bar. Not all is in the vest, lol. I carry a GG Tom Teaser satchel too. If I sit then it gets heavier, with an HS Strut turkey stool and a thicker butt pad and decoys. I prefer the lighter version but do what is necessary to be comfortable and prepared. I wish I could leave half my stuff at home, but my pea brain won't let me.  :funnyturkey:  :funnyturkey: Z

I'm one of the satchel guys with a Glenda seat cushion and a Yoder leather hen box case that I attached to the side of the satchel to carry my gobbler box, with adding this I have my perfect setup.

I also use a turkey chair and have replaced the sling strap with a nice cheaper padded gun sling strap. I don't use the chair all the time, but it's all part of my turkey arsenal.

Thanks for sharing Tom, it's all about what you need and how you make modifications to carry it all.. IMO

Something else I carry just as much as my satchel, calls and gun is a camo soft sided cooler, because I always pack a lunch to stay most of the day if needed. Turkey season is only so long and I see no reason to want to leave my hunting area because of wanting breakfast or lunch. I always have to have that morning honey bun for breakfast. LOL

Amen brothers, thanks for feedback. Hope it all helps......

North Mountain kangaroo pouch with a owl, crow, and a Gooserbat ICE mouth call plus couple items stuffed in cargo pockets. Slip this tactical belt on when I get out of the truck. It has a magnetic buckle and rides like gun belt on my hips.

If its raining pretty good, the belt stays in the truck, and a Woods Wise 'waterproof' short box on a holster attached to my regular belt along with the seat cushion.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

Sit down wrong, and you're beat. Jim Spencer                          Don't go this year where Youtubers went last year.
