Looking into doing a Goulds hunt for 2026 or 2027 if I'm too late. What outfitters have people had a good experience with?

Mkeller

Interested also, are you looking at mexico or in the us?

Call Manuel Enriquez at El Halcon Lodge and Outfitters.

I've hunted with him for Gould's in Chihuahua and Ocellated in Campeche.  There is NONE better !!!!  His operation gets 6 stars outta 5.  Everyone I have referred to him has come back in TOTAL and HIGH praise of his operation.

My icon pic, over to the left, is of one of my El Halcon Gould's.

I was looking at that website earlier this week and couldn't find any information on pricing. I figured if I have to ask I can't afford it.

If it's not too nosy, could you give a ballpark idea on the cost of a trip down there?

A few on bookyourhunt.com. Prices all over the map. May give you a baseline.  Good luck

BTW - I looked seriously a few years ago but wrote it off when all the border problems intensified.  Went to Wyoming instead   No regrets.

I'm not opposed to the US but figured there's more opportunity for a goulds in Mexico.

Headed down south of the border on Saturday. I will keep you posted

Honestly..... I can't tell you what you'd be into a Gould's hunt for, $$-wise.  I haven't hunted Gould's since 2007.  I'm sure things have changed.

If you call...you'll get a SUPER-nice gal named Patty.  She'll be happy to get you all the info you need.

Jay Scott outdoors. Went in 2023 and it was amazing. Went in late May. Go early, go late won't matter you will get your birds.

So what does a hunt with Jay Scott run if you don't mind me asking?

It was $4500 for 2 birds if I remember correctly.

I just spoke to Jay yesterday and it's $3250 for one and $4900 for two.
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.

Not to bad, is that pretty much all inclusive except airfare and tip?

joey46

Those prices seem to be the norm. Most Mexican hunts I've looked at always had a few extras that weren't excessive.
