I guess I should follow my earlier post up with something..Tensas requires a yearly permit that costs $20. If you consider it; get a map or save the one online. Lots of walking is possible. I have seen a good many birds there but I understand that it used to be far more. Big Lake is a state run deal that borders the federal. I would think the terrain should be almoat identical. A permit is required there too but it is $15 and can be purchased at the same time as your license. Red Dirt has a lot of hills..big ones for this area. Not sure what you are used to. You may not consider them high. But it holds a good population of turkeys
