Holy crap I thought to myself, this is actually going to work!? Did this fool actually buy what I was selling??

YES, HE DID!!!  Sometimes we NEED to throw caution to the wind.  What's the worse that could happen, HE WALKS OFF?  He was headed in that direction any way.  Many times, we think soft is better or only call every 15 minutes and NO MORE.  But hens don't do that ALL the time.  When they want company, they BRING IT!  You did something out of the ordinary for YOU but he wanted some ladies to DANCE with, and YOU brought the ladies to the DANCE.  CONGRATS AGAIN for Thinking Outside the NORM!!!

A buddy and I were hunting one morning before work.  We had 2 strutters in the field and they had hens with them.  We were stuck...couldn't move.  We would call and the birds would sort of move our way.  We would quit calling and they would drift off.  We did this back and forth all morning.  Finally, we decided that we would just start calling and see what happened.  Our anticipation was the hens would just pull them away and we could get to work.

He was calling on a slate and I was using my mouth yelper and box...and by using, I mean we never stopped calling.  Those 2 toms just slowly made their way across the field.  We quit once and they stopped so we poured it back on them and we killed them both. Craziest thing I've ever witnessed.  Needed an aspirin after as our ears were ringing from all the loud obnoxious calling.  LOL.

Great stories.  I really enjoyed.
