Vortex Venom red dot too bright in low light

I'm having problems with the Venom red dot being too bright even when it's on the lowest setting. It's hard to see a turkeys head when they fly down early off the roost.I wish it had some lower settings. Does anyone have a fix for this that they would like to share?
