Im not on Facebook, but my wife has been on for many years. She saw a nice post today from Old Gobbler (Shannon) mentioning that he will be retiring and that this is his final Christmas working in his long career. A well deserved accomplishment for sure. I wish you health, happiness and the successful pursuit of what you love to do; spending time with family, hunting, and your passion for call making. We all work so hard to get to this time in our life to be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor. God bless you Shannon, enjoy every moment and keep us all filled in on all your endeavors. Be safe my friend..

Congratulations on a job well done.  Hopefully, retirement will translate into more time with family and in the great outdoors.

Yep.

It's coming up on 2 years that I retired (35 1/2 years) from the same hellhole that Shannon is....

If you live to retire from UPS..... you have sacrificed sweat, blood, body and family.  You have EARNED it !!!

I think its good timing i turn 55 and can get my pension and make game calls on a more full time manner ...I will make a normal amount of turkey calls this spring , then spring 2026 I'll be able to make more than the normal

I've always worked waaaay too many hours , 2020 with covid I worked 3056 hours at ups plus building calls

CONGRATS Shannon.  Retirement is a WONDERFUL thing.  A couple of pieces of advice from someone who has been retired for 13 years now.  Put your watch in your sock drawer because you are on YOUR time now and LEARN one word in the English language, "NO"!!  Now that you are retired and have ALL the time in the world, LOL, everyone will ask for help.  Prioritize what the OLD GOBBLER and OLD HEN want to do and ENJOY God's Blessings in your Golden Years!  My Prayer for you is MANY YEARS of GREAT HEALTH!!

Truth. My turkey calls shipped UPS show up on time, in unmolested packages, since Yoder called it quits.

Congrats Shannon! Enjoy your well earned retirement.

Yeah......

I bet your NEW guy doesn't care if you get un-tested calls.   ::)

He probably doesn't even carry a screwdriver to fine tune them for you prior to drop-off.
