Have recently managed to find a rare 3-in Parker VHE Grade. These are common as
turkey hen's teeth. Try and find one-and this one was originally pictured on the 2021 Winter cover of "Parker Pages'-the publication of the PGCA-Parker Gun Collectors Assn. It
is an 8 lb shotgun so is equipped to handle heavier shot shells, within reason.
The Parker is about a half-pound heavier than the Long Range LC Smiths. It patterns well with #4s and # 6 shot. Like the two Long Range Smiths, the barrel length is 32 inch. I have grown used to longer barrels, having started out years ago with them.
This now means I have a turkey-goose gun choice between an a Fox HE Grade 3-in SuperFox, A Parker VHE 3-Inch, or two LC Smith Long Range guns.
Bringing up the rear for really rough inclement weather are two Winchester 3-inch Heavy Duck shotguns. This will have to do it for vocal gobblers.
