You gotta watch out buying off Ebay

I saw a Woodhaven Classic Slate call on Ebay for $42, new in the package.  Great price so I bought it.  My Woodhaven Crystal Classic is a real nice sounding call so I thought this one should be too.  When it arrived, it appeared to be new in the plastic packaging but when I opened it, the slate wasn't glued in. :z-dizzy:  On opposite sides of the pot there were balls of gummy stuff that rolled up and came off easily.  Maybe that was the glue/goop that melted out?

Being a man of many skills :you_rock: , I pulled my goop out and glued the slate on.  I am quite happy with the results.
The same seller has some other Woodhaven pot calls for sale at the same price, be aware.

Now my goal is to make my own pot call that sounds even better by next spring.

I bought a Cody pot the other day and when I got it the soundboard was loose inside. I sent it back.

I bet Woodhaven would have fixed or exchanged it.  My experience with another pot sent back was very positive.  But I played this call some more today, it sounds real good.

Several years ago, I bought some Browning socks off E-Bay.  The description said NEW.  When I received them, they were definitely factory seconds with a few having some small runs and other small defects.  The seller ask for a couple of PICS and after seeing the PICS promptly made a refund and told me to keep the socks.  They were probably drop shipped from a third party so the seller had never seen the socks they were selling.  Personally I've been very satisfied with my transactions on E-bay.  As required on OG, only use PAYPAL and your transaction is protected.

My buddy just purchased 2 two man ladder stands off E-bay. When he received them neither one of them had the hardware. Called the ladder stand company and they said for him to ship them back to them ($160) and they would send new stands and hardware...

A trip to the hardware store would be much cheaper!

Ebay is a bit of a crapshoot sometimes but my experience has been pretty positive overall.

When I buy on ebay, I always look at their number of transaction and their feedback (buying and selling).  Two weeks ago, one person had a spotting scope for a great price.  Unfortunately, he only had two transactions and I wasn't comfortable and had to let it go.  They were probably legit but too much to pay to roll the dice.
