The socks are a tight stretch fit. You can't feel the seam as they are far to small and stretch as well.

I've had experiences where the ticks bit me before they died with permethrin treated clothes. I tuck my pants into my snake boots to keep them from crawling up my leg inside my pants. I don't see me being able to tie my cuffs on my pants tight enough to keep ticks out that are crawling up my boots. This year I started duct taping my cuffs to my 10" boots when I'm not in snake country. Might start doing the same with the snake boots.

The snake boots were waterproof before I put them on the boot dryers to dry the sweat out when it was 90 degrees out 2 springs ago. Thought I'd see how the waterproof socks worked in them this spring.

As far as ticks falling into the boots. Boots are too tight for that. The thorns would collect at the top of the boot and when took them off they fell down inside and poked the holes during the next use or so.

I can completely see where you are coming from in that circumstance, those snake boots lace tight and high and that would indeed make a difference. I have thought on taping myself, I am having such a problem with my feet (Well foot anyway) I am often wearing sneakers and socks I have spayed down along with my pants.

Thank you for the information about the socks, I do not know what the surgery will do for my foot in Sept. but I know I am sick of wet feet, had my toenail come off because my feet got so wet a few years ago.

I would compare wearing the socks to wearing a heavy weight compression socks.
