I don't understand why they keep putting a box call pocket on the front of these vest. They're always too small and lots of guys don't use a box. Make a removable box pocket for the side or something. Use some Molle make them customizable. The pot call pockets on the front of nomads vest a few years ago were awful to. I hate a pocket sticking way off the vest.
Maybe offer a molle attachable box call pocket and a molle attachable Thermacell holster.  The owner could choose one or none of the above.

I rarely carry a box but think I'll carry one some this season.  The box call pocket holds my Thermacell nicely, so I have those two options.

Its crazy when you are ready to spend your $$ but cant because because of quality issues, availability, etc.  This happens all the time to me in all different scenarios.  For me the best thing to do is not reward them with my money. Just like you did.

That said, I have an old cabelas tatr vest that ive used for years. The one with the huge seat.  I have liked it for the most part. The box call pocket is in a bad place when i carry a gun slinged. Seems like that would have been a consideration.  The pockets are starting to get holes in the bottom from use at this point but it has served well.  A year or two ago i bought my son the new tatr vest off the interwebs and it was a huge disappointment to us when we got it. It just seems cheap next to the old one.  My .02

I've used the same vest for 20 years. I have no desire to change it. Pretty sure they don't make anything like it now and I hope it lasts me another 50 years cause I love my vest. It's been everywhere and boxes and pots fit great. I love the mouth call pocket..it holds my can of Copenhagen great. A wonderful pocket for my Gatorade and two nice inside pockets for my wallet, keys, shells, TP, masks, gloves and snacks.

I guess I'm lucky and found the right one for me. I hope you find one and love it as much as I love my vest. Unlike women...it has yet to let me down.  :z-flirtysmile3:

You have us all guessing, what make is your vest?

Mossy Oak Super Elite II. It's nothing special. But it meets what I need.

Nice vest..Most of all, it works.....thx

When BPS bought out Cabelas they ruined the turkey vests. The older ones were awesome.

Curious where you saw the Blocker vest?

The money (billions) they spent to buy Cabelas, something had to suffer. Unfortunately they lowered the quality of some of their products....

Personally I would rather spend a little more for quality when it comes to anything. Like I tell my girlfriend when it comes to cooking "Cheap ingredients equal cheap results" it is the same thing with about anything in life, buy the best you can possible afford instead of going to the $ store and buying the same piece of crap 10 times that will fail you over and over.

I have yet to see a vest on the market that will replace my Super Elite 3 and since I have three, they will carry me to the end of my hunting days.

Both my go to vests are Super Elites. I just like them. Buy new vests load them up, then unload them back into the Super Elites. Ugh.

I have a love / hate relationship with my turkey vest.

Get a vest that has the layout that you like the most and get it.  If you don't like it by seasons end you can always sell it on here, ebay, etc.

Unfortunately, spending my money on vests and other turkey gear is not hard for me, at all!

There's probably more hunters that can afford the $50 vest than those of us who will fork out a $150 for a good vest. So from a business practice, make cheap, sell cheap, and make more money. I get it!!! Most companies are in the business to make money, not satisfy people. Do I like it that everything is going cheap? NO! But it's not going to change anytime soon. I guess what I'm saying is, I can see both sides. But I'm still going to hold out and pay for the better stuff. My 10 yr old vest works just fine for now.
