I just got a Sinclair 3" brass over slate in a cocobolo pot. It sounds similar to copper but just a little more bark to it. It likes a bloodwood striker.

Yep, I have one of the 3 1/4 " copper over glass and it is a little softer and more natural sounding to my ear and some days that's what the birds want.
