People are talking about different strikers to use on different surfaces in this whole thread. I hope it helps you. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=http%3A%2F%2Foldgobbler%2Ecom%2FForum%2Findex%2Ephp%3Ftopic%3D103984%2Emsg1028718%2Emsg%231028718&share_tid=103984&share_pid=1028718&share_fid=17578&share_type=t&link_source=app

IMO it is hard to beat Jeff Harrison's Frogwood or a Heavy Dymondwood striker on any call surface.  It seems these laminated strikers bring out the Best in any call I've run them with.

I would go aluminum

Lonzo acrylic
Mabry
Brad Roberts
Dawkins

Meleagris gallopavo

I like ceramic.  I have the blue mahoe from Buster, walnut from Travis Wyatt, and a laminated ceramic from Chad Hutcheson.  I'm good.

I live and hunt by empirical evidence.

Spring Allure Persimmon Slate over Glass, I swear it brought about the TFC

Hoot 000

Anything Buster Halford makes, Scott Hock gray slate and lonnie Mabry slate over wood.

I don't know if any one has mentioned it yet but Richard Gunn with Wicked Hen Game Calls makes some of the finest pot calls I've played. He's on Facebook and is a first class guy to deal with.

I just bought it this past weekend.

A figured yellowheart slate 4-track player from Redbeard (Dean Mundhenke).   I made my own friction walnut slate 20 or so years ago and have hunted that one ever since.  I don't accumulate friction calls.  But this one spoke to me..........

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

MAC Calls Cherry Pot Glass/Glass, Bubinga Pot Black Anodized Aluminum/Glass or Walnut Pot Ceramic/Glass all are great calls and a good guy to deal with.
