HUNTING SD INDIAN RESERVATIONS

Any of you hunting the reservation next spring? I wonder if the vaccine will be mandatory before entering the reservation?

Lots will. When I was working on the road this summer I tried to stop at a casino and they required vaccination card

I got two doses of the Moderna Covid Vaccine. What the hell is a vaccination card? I got my shots in SD, and we never got anything. Are we seriously supposed to go to our doctors and have them print us out vaccination records? The various native tribes of SD are their own nations, but I have a real hard time believing they are going to require your medical records to hunt their land.

When I returned a month later for the second shot they added the date for the second shot. The clinic told me that was the vaccination card and to keep it for proof of vaccination.

It was my impression that the issuance of these vaccination cards was standard procedure across the country.  We were issued the cards and told to keep them available to verify our vaccinations if required somewhere.  In my opinion, anybody that was not issued one of these cards should try to obtain one.  I suspect that would require going back to the place where the shots were administered and trying to sort it out with them. 

The Native American tribes seem to be genetically more susceptible to the virus, so I would not be at all surprised if they require proof of vaccination for those hunting tribal lands.  Then again, simply inquiring about any such requirements would be the obvious solution.  Of course, anyone can ignore that possibility at their own risk if they wish.  There is always the possibility that testing for the virus immediately prior to the hunt would suffice.

I just got my booster shot and they want to see the vaccination card from original shots.

I could go to my doctor and request a vaccination record, but you think I'm about to show my private medical records to somebody else? Get real.

Every vaccine I've ever received was and has been recorded. I recently was asked to produce vaccinations from childhood records and I'm 41 years old. What I couldn't produce, I was tested for with a blood test.

For international travel, a "yellow card" was issued for those vaccininations like yellow fever. My Covid shot was recorded on my yellow card, as well as it's own card.

Are you guys just messing with me now? A yellow card? The only country I've been to besides the USA was Mexico, and all they needed was a passport. I'm fairly sure they would let you cross by car with nothing but a drivers license.

There are countries that require vax cards to enter. Before Covid, it was common to be asked about vaccinations for work visas.

All the vax card countries can be crossed off my list of places to visit, they are dropping like flies it seems!

I can't add too much to this, but last week I stopped in Eagle Butte, SD. I did not do any hunting in the area, but I did see a sign for what looked like a community center asking that masks be worn. The amount of masks I saw on people appeared the same as anywhere else in SD (maybe 10%). Nobody said anything at the local Café, and I never had a mask.

It might be worth asking if you have to hunt with a guide, but I doubt you are going to have to show anything of vaccination to hunt there. To be clear, Eagle Butte is a town of the Cheyenne. There's turkeys there, but I'm guessing most non-residents would be looking at the far west blackhills area, which would be Oglala Sioux. A quick internet search shows nothing of requiring vaccine, but they do make it clear if you are hunting with a guide that you must follow CDC guidelines of the masks indoors, and handwashing etc.

I did ask the doctor about getting one of these Covid cards, and it would not be an issue, it is on my record. I did not ask for one. I don't want to come across as anti-vaccine, although I do believe it should be a personal choice, but there is NO WAY I am ever showing my medical records to a non medical professional. The day it happens is the day the world is already lost.

I hate to break it to you Scattergun, but the world already is lost. I have come across a lot of stores that have posted in the window "vaccination required". Good thing is, they are stores I wouldn't step in to regardless of the sign. I'm unvaccinated, I'm not "anti-vaccine" I believe everyone should make their own choice for what's best for themselves. However, I am "anti-mandate" and I will not submit to coercion from the government to get the jab. Piss on the government and any other entity who wants to tell me what to do for "my health". After all, I thought it was my body my choice. The Dems used to love that term, but I guess this is (D)ifferent
