It has a hump, Almost like a piece of keystock underneath that rail that stick up above the barrel slightly.  It had two holes that are tapped.   Sumtoy makes a mount and I thin EGW makes one that is counter sunk on the back side that fits right over it.  Then the two screws and your set.
Thanks!  That's for the Savage/Stevens 301, right?

Yes.   Kind of a funny deal, but works fine.

Yeah.  That'll work.

This is the key stock piece.

Yes, it sticks up about 1/8" above the barrel, maybe a tad more.

I'd go with a 28 gauge.  But I'd prefer it be drilled and tapped.  I didn't see that in the description.  Plus it doesn't have any info on the choke or choke tube compatibility.

I'm thinking about one for myself. I sent an inquiry about choke tube threads, if it's Mobil chokes I'm going for it. I don't use optics so drilled and tapped is no issue. 3" chamber and a safety instead of hammer are good for me also.

Anyone ever cerakoted a 301 Stevens?  I'm toying with that too.  The cerakote may cost more than the gun.

I may be behind the times or missing something...............but did someone start making a 3" shell in 28 gauge ??  I was never aware of anything other than 2 3/4" in the 28

There are a few gun manufacturers that are making 3" 28 gauge guns, mostly or all European, and the same with the ammunition. Fiocchi offers a few options in the 3" 28.
