This morning I got to pattern my new Winchester sx4 20 Gauge with a 26" barrel. I used a Sumtoy 570, Indian Creek 570 and Indian Creek 575 and all shots were with Apex 3" number 8's (smallest we can use in NY). I am very happy with the Indian Creek 570. and that's what I'll be using in this gun. These are with the bead and using a lead sled. The IC 570 is dead on with the bead. The large paper targets are at 40 yards and the small turkey target is at 20. The first is the Indian Creek 570 followed by the I.C. 575 and Sumtoy 570 at the end. When I ordered the Sumtoy he did say this is a more open choke and the max is 40 yards. It's just too wide for me but I will probably try their 562 for fun.

Just counted pellet holes on two targets I shot at 40 with the IC 570. The one pictured above has 211 and the other one I didn't post a pic of has 243. The extreme tight pattern at 20 has me a little worried but the 40 I am extremely pleased with.

I had the 570 IC in my 20ga 870 and it put up awesome numbers at 40, but looked like yours does at 20, which had me concerned enough that I swapped it for a Trulock 585 today.  I don't think I've ever taken a 40 yard shot, and most of mine are 25ish and in, and I was willing to sacrifice some yardage for a better 20 yard spread.  You can see the pics on the thread from today "Can I shoot TSS through this".  I even think a .590 or .595 would be better.  15-35 yards is what range I want covered.   That 20 yard pattern with the IC 570 scared me, and that's where 99% of my birds are.

Looks Really Good!  POA/POI is Spot On!  You have done your due diligence and know what happens at 20 so Aim Small, Miss Small!  Take her HUNTING!!!

Just read your thread you started and yes these are very tight patterns. Even your 585 was tighter than I thought it would be at 20. I think I am going to stick with my 570 for now and just aim real carefully at 20 and in. I have a Winchester SX3 on the way and that will get a red dot and I will try the same three chokes again with that gun.

Looks great....best of luck.......
Thanks Tom.I will say this 20 gauge patterns better with #8 TSS than my other 12 gauges with 3" and 3.5" shells in Hevi 13 or Winchester XRHD.
