I found a Remington 11-87 Special Purpose Turkey that is all camo, kinda like a treebark pattern and sports a 21"barrel.The gun is used but i have no idea what year it is.It shoots 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Can anyone identify what year this 11-87 was made with this camo pattern?

Any opinions on these autos,,,am considering this or a Mossberg 935 and not sure which one to get.

Thankyou,
Kdog

Looks like MO bottom land.  I'd snatch that up if the barrel and action are good

Remington can tell you the date of manufacture. May be able find it on the web site or just send them an e mail.

That looks like Trebark camo from Jim Crumly. If it is, the gun has been around for awhile. It would be pretty easy to date with the serial#. As stated earlier, the action and condition must determine value.

If that gun is in good cond & has a good price on it you had better get it. I bought one brand new in the early 90's. It is a turkey killer for sure. I paid 699.00 for it then. I have killed a ton of gobblers with mine . IMO it is better than the new Remingtons now.

Hey Guys thanks for the replies i really appreciate it! The gun looks to be in excellent condition,,,a visual inspection of the barrel and action and overall condition of the stock is very good.It still has the factory choke tube and im kinda thinking this gun hasnt been toted around the woods very often.

I dont know if the price is any good or not though,,,,There asking $600 so thats why im hesitant.Do these pattern well with the 21"barrel,,,i like the shorter size but if patterning is a problem id likely pass on it.Im also considering a Mossy 935 that has a 24"barrel its at the same shop and roughly the same price.Any advice which one to jump on????Both of them shoulder about the same to me and feel good. This will be my main turkey gun,,ive been useing a old H&R Topper deluxe single shot for years and kinda really like the nostalgic look of this 11-87.

Thanks for the help guys this one is tuff,,,,old vs new.

1992 was the first production year of that gun in trebark..actually prior to original bottomland on the remingtons then greenleaf

I would take that gun over a MJ any day of the year.  Jump on it, cuz for $600 your not going to find another like it, especially if its in good shape.  If you don't want it, let me know where its at and I'll call the guy up and buy it sight unseen.

Don't know about that gun but the 1187 sport clay was built along that then was very good. I know some folk with them and had thousands of rounds shot in them. I sold one for 800 and see them for 600 to 700 all the time. They been shot a lot more then that one so money is in line.
