Did Some Testing Today

Well I wanted to try out my new Pure Gold .670 Remington choke for my 870, and I wanted to also test the TruGlo Tru-Brite dot sight today and see how it works and if it would stand up to the recoil of the 3.5" turkey loads and hold it's zero on my Moss 835.  Well it passed with flying colors.  I am in love with this sight from what I have seen so far.  I can zero the circle dot reticle on the dot I am shootin at 40yds and it's a breeze to aim this sight.  I really like it.  It held its zero perfectly once I got is sighted in.  I'll post up some patterns in a bit.

Ok here's some 870 patterns.






Here's some 835 patterns.  I have had some guy wanting me to shoot the Star Dot choke up close to see how it patterns.  So here's a Win AA 1 and 1/8oz #8 trap load at 15yds. 



I thought this was pretty good for Hevi-13 3" 2oz #6 load.



And here was the best one of the day.

Is the housing on that sight all metal?

Yes. I think it's all aluminum construction.

And yes the chamber was empty.

[3" 870 Shell Shucker]

Those numbers are about average for an 870 with those shells and a good choke.  If you experiment with chokes in the 870 like you did with the 835, you'll beat those numbers, but you're good to go right now.
