TSS thru old Stevens 58b 410 full choke , OK?

Good morning!
I have my dads old 410 bolt action. It's the gun he grew up shooting.
Steven's (Savage) 58B 410 full choke barrel.
I'm interested in trying to kill a turkey with it. I think it would be fun/challenging and a good way to "honor" the gun.
Obviously TSS has given 410's new life in the turkey world, but is it safe to run TSS thru this old gun. If so, what load would you shoot? If no TSS, then what would you shoot? (It's chambered for 3" fyi).
Thanks in advance

Not a ballistic engineer but you should be fine. Factory TSS shot shells have a protective wad too protect barrel from scoring. Your gun is new enough that you shouldn't have any issues. If legal in the state you hunt I would suggest a load of straight 9's.

Hit up fox trot ammo, he has some impressive 410 loads and could recommend one with lower pressures if you are concerned! With a fixed full you will not be stretching out the distance, 9.5 or 10 shot will get you some dense patterns!

Last year I cut off the tip of finger during turkey season. Dr. gave me the ok to turkey hunt he just said be carefull and don't jar the finger too much. I was concerned with the recoil from my 12 gauge and 20 gauge for I went to the safe and found one of my old 410s I shot as a kid. The one I chose was the Stevens bolt action 410. I don't like the thought of a single shot for turkeys as I have benefitted numerous times from a follow up shot. I purchased a box of APEX 9.5s and went out to see what it would do. It absolutely shocked me how well it patterned. I shot it at 20, 30 and 40 yards and believe it is easily a 40 yard gun. My son and I are going to hunt with it this year and hopefully make one flop.

I will carrying the first shotgun I purchased with paper-route $$$ back in the 70's; an old Stevens 59A.
Now makes me wonder if I should keep changing guns and try a 16-ga or 28-ga next year?
Thanks for sharing your patterns!
Edit...
I should have added: I shoot Federal TSS #9s and only issue is the soft metal on the magazine tube outer. I had to regrind the pin slot again to keep the tube from falling out.
