Question for those that hunt different states...

When planning an out of state hunt, how concerned are you with how that hunt falls with your resident hunt season?
Do you purposely plan/consider hunts before or after your home state's season?

Before, but I archery hunt and some states have early archery season. My state doesn't.

I plan my hunts around when hens should be nesting.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

I either plan the hunt before or after the first week of La season. I hunt the La opener and am usually done by the first week and on to other states.
If you make everything easy how do you know when your good at anything?

If it's a different sub-species, that gets priority. If it's the same as my home state, I like to be home for the opener.

The way I look at it, I am usually going out of state for a reason. Usually , but not always, to hunt a different sub-species. I try to time my OOS hunts to increase my chances of success and optimize my investment. Sometimes I hunt OOS to lengthen my season. Lots of different factors, but I agree with Gooserbat in general due to optimizing my chance of success.

I'm lucky enough to reside in a state with one of the worst turkey populations in the SE, so I spend as little time as possible here. I will typically give AR the first week, then I'll be back on the road.
This year is going to suck!!!
