shot a real nice bird and need tips for how to mount it. i have 2 dogs so i kinda want something on the wall so it wont get wrecked, maybe gobbling on the limb with the snood out and the fan open in a way so that its in strut or a dead mount, only trouble with a dead mount is you wont be able to see the beards really.. atleast i dont thinbk so.
can you guys post up some pics of your mounts for me to get ideas no matter what it is?
i would like a full strut but witht he fan angled so it looks like the bird is switching it back and forth but maybe i can get a case for it? idk
post em up!!!

Check out TRKYHTR's dead mount in his post "Latest Project"
Shows the beard just fine

I really like the dead mount and if you hand him off a limb or tree trunk you can see the beards just fine from the side only down fall, if they are hung to high hard to see spurs on some. AND the spurs are where it's at IMO....

If u go to Hazel creek taxidermy look in turkey mounts and number TK74 and TK75 that is how i am having my bird mounted this year. I am having a local guy here mount it and half the fan is open but my bird will have both feet down with wing down. The pic on the net just shows one leg down which i dont like.
