Hey all,
Finally after hunting hard all the first week with no luck during dangerous thunderstorms and heavy rains me and my hunting buddy harvested a jake each this morning at 8:00 am. My jake has a 5" double beard with 1/2" knub spurs and to me is a really nice trophy and will be a very tasty dinner.
I really do not have a clue as to how old he is maybe 2 years old?? Any one care to to tell me what you think as to the age would be appreciated. We had 6 jakes in the group and we both picked one out and shot,it was awesome!
I'm getting my second tag this evening and may take the franchi 720 20ga. out for initiation to finish out the season hopefully getting a big long beard tom!
I shot this bird a little over 40 yards with my benelli SBEII hevi13 #7 3-1/2" and it rolled him back stone dead no movement.

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.
