I imagine all this rain and flooding in the midwest is gonna take its toll on the turkey hatch this spring. Although I have heard that sometimes a hen will re nest if she looses her first one soon enough. Is this true? And if so do you think that maybe all this rain wont have too bad an impact on the hatch this year? I have no clue about this stuff and am just curious.

The rain and cool weather is terrible for the young poults.  The backwater is tough on hens that may have already nested, but they must renest part of the time because an area I hunt seems to have been flooded the last several years and I saw 10 jakes there this year.  That area is now under water and I'm sure a lot of the hens were already nesting on the ridges that normally stay dry........not this year.
