I bought a Dixon vest last year for way less than 900$. Very well made vest quality materials ...but empty the thing weighed more than my old vest fully loaded. Only good thing was I sold it in a day and got all my money back. Unless your a Turkey vest collector( if there is such a thing) I'd pass if they were 50$ let alone the crazy prices being paid.
If you make everything easy how do you know when your good at anything?

I have seen one... Not a bad vest at all, but were I to own one currently, I would sell it, and purchase an equally good vest with some extra money to spend on gear or shells...
I believe it was simply a vest ahead of its time, and became very popular, and due to limited numbers has become overly expensive... It is my impression that it is not the quality or utility of the vest, it is the lack of availability that makes them so expensive.
Did I do that?

I have #69 i think, first 100 came with identically numbered calls from cody, pittman, primos and others. A huge percentage of the money went to cancer research. I use a limbhanger vest that is very similar and had been discontinued but they sell for twice what they were new now.

Mighty - joe you are so wrong, this was a vest dedicated to Bob Dixion to raise funds for the cancer that killed him, he was a great guy and I think it was mossy oak that sold the vest, in his memory and to fund research, man for some of you guys to post about the amount for a vest and then pay $400 for a pot is unreal to me!

I actually know a guy who hunts in a Bob Dixon and won't consider anything else. Says he knows what it would be worth but says it was made to hunt. I do know the quality of them was probably the best vest ever made. The limbhanger vest was a cheapened version of it.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
