Rio came from black kettle. The eastern came from southeastern Oklahoma. Those two birds wrap up my season in my home state unless I decide to take a last minute trip to NE OK. The eastern is probably my best bird to date. 10 1/4 inch paintbrush beard. 1 1/8 and 7/8 spurs. Didn't weigh him. He came in with 2 other toms strutting and gobbling midmorning. Very fast paced and exciting hunt. The rio is a 2 year old bird with short round spurs and 9 inch beard. I didn't have a photographer for a good picture so sorry for the dead turkey looking picture. These birds and hunting them is truly a blessing to me and I'm thankful for the King of Spring. Good luck to everyone still chasing them.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
