Anyone try doing a diy dip kit ...? Wondering the difficulty and how it turned out

practice, practice, practice.

Biggest thing is discovering how to insert the part to be coated so it coats properly. You can do small parts at home. If you're wanting to do a weapon, I would suggest having it done by folks who are experienced with them. You'll be money ahead in the long run, with a much better and longer lasting dip.

My landlords son did one over this past summer and it did not turn out well at all. I think a major part of that is that he did not use a clean container, I mean he did hose it out but it was one of those big round metal things that you would take a bath in if you got sprayed by a skunk. (I know they have a name but it won't come to me) I could see dirt floating in it and I tried to talk him out of it because I had watched a lot of videos on it on Youtube but he was insistent.
