More Cody talk,,can't afford the $200 world class or spec but heard that the woodsman and Cody ll are true bargains for a quarter of price,,just interested in the slate versions. Any insights or opinions??

The Woodsman DDS is green slate over wood soundboard in a 5 piece pot.  Very good call for the money.  The Cody II is a one piece walnut pot slate over glass.

I have the Woodsman slate and like the tone with a diamondwood striker. Haven't played the Cody II.

I killed an awful lot of birds w a woodsman. It's a good call and the only non custom I still have.

I have a dd woodsman. Love it. Goes great with a Cody carbon tip striker

I tote both glass and slate Cody II. Dont know if its Just me or if Mr. Harold Fowler brought it to light . but i strike alot of turkeys with the glass but seem to always change to slate to finish just about all of them. That goes for Codys and Woodhaven, the only production calls I tote thesedays .

I much prefer the standard Woodsman to the Drop Dead but that's juts me.

The Cody II is a heck of a call for the money!

I got a DD Woodsman Slate last year and its an awesome call. Earned its spot in my vest. Super consistent and hardly ever have to condition the surface. Plays very well in humid conditions with the carbon tipped striker. Its a green slate surface which was pretty unique to this call just last year and now EVERYBODY is making calls with green slate.
