One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Yup,...this.  I have just about every type of striker and call-surface combination.  Almost always, one (or more) strikers will sound better to me with a specific call/surface than others,...and the combination of the two is rarely the same.  It ain't the striker material/shape or the call surface material,...it is the combination of the two that makes the difference.
