Well its been another fine spring turkey hunting for sure....I put the sneak on this guy and his three brothers yesterday afternoon as when I got to the property they were already in the field...so I crawled about 200 yards on my guts only to see them move away but no spooked....these birds are being hunted by other hunters as well...so I thought this morning I would setup on a different part of the property and leave my calls in my vest.....not much cover at this spot but it worked out good this morning.....after little gobbling and about a hour after daylight I see them coming up the field...three of them in full strut but a long ways from me...as im concentrating on these birds I guess I was making some movement and I hear birds behind me as well....I turn my head and there is 7 jakes behind me....lol...I had no idea they were there.....
Long story short...I did no calling this morning and the 4 longbeards came right to me...
Spurs 1 1/8 and 1 3/8...20 lbs with a 10 1/4 inch beard....

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
